Amusement park water ride tips and tricks to keep dry and not wet

If you have kids, you know that they love the water rides at the theme parks. Parents always make one classic mistake about them. They look at the ride and think “well maybe if we go for it we’ll get lucky and not get so wet”. haha!!! Believe me, you will lose this bet! You always get really wet riding on the water, and that’s what they’re designed to do.

So here are my tips and tricks for keeping yourself, your camera, and your shoes dry when you go on a theme park water ride. Let’s say you go to Disney and your kids want to go on a water ride. Well, you go and get those very expensive raincoats that happen to be selling outside of the water games. So now you’ll stay dry even if a rush of water happens all over you. But you forget the most important part of your body.

your foot! Think about it, you get off the ride with your clothes dry, but now you have wet, wet sneakers and socks. So for the rest of the day you can wear wet, steamy, hot shoes, yuk! Your feet will soak, trust me. Some games have compartments for storing things, but do you really want to take off your shoes and socks in there?

This is where my tips come in when you go on those theme park water rides. When you go to the parks, take a small backpack. Maybe a few of your family members carry one to post the bulk. Now, inside your backpacks you have a pair of rubber sandals for every member you picked up at any of the cheap gift shops, there’s one on every block where there are theme parks!

Also put an extra pair of socks for each person. There’s more to carry, but in this post, I’m just talking about what you want to ride on the water. Once you get to the water ride they all have little lockers where you can store things. Get one, change your shoes and socks and put on sandals, then lock up your things. Leave your cameras, wallets, and wallet there, too.

Now you can go on a water ride at the amusement park and not worry about getting things wet, except for clothes that will dry in the hot Florida sun. Once you get off, go to the bathrooms and dry off as much as you can. Then put on your socks and shoes, and now you have nice, nice dry feet! Wait, some of you might be thinking sandals lovers.

Why not just wear sandals all day, you don’t even need to carry a shoe? You don’t want to wear sandals all day while you’re riding around the amusement park. The pavement gets really hot, and you can walk a lot. One of the most common complaints is blisters from people who wear sandals. Plus they fly off your feet on open bottom roller coasters!

So, wear sneakers with thick soles and socks that you can change into to feel better in the middle of the day. Carry sandals in your backpack, maybe with a small towel if you want to, too. Your feet will thank you at the end of the day, trust me. And remember, looking at that journey your kids want you to go on, you’re going to get wet!!

Almost all theme parks have great and fun water rides. Taking my tips will ensure you have a great time and not have sore or wet feet or damage to your cameras from the water. Have fun at the amusement parks and stay dry!
